It's available till before Mother's Day and very popular item in New York in every spring since 8 years ago and their main overseas market of Sweet Peas grown in Hokkaido are mainly exported to New York.
Hokkaido Sweet Pea season is starting from April and it will be available around Mother's day in May. Production is not so big but quality is amazing. You can enjoy 50cm tall of very thick stem with beautiful petals.
Hokkaido is still very cold and Sweet peas are growing very slow because of cold weather. This climate made stems and petals very strong, thats why Hokkaido Sweet Peas are lasting very long and travel very well.
Its very popular item in Domestic market as well and we are not able to ship big volume of Hokkaid Sweet Peas. It means that if you can get chance to enjoy Japanese Sweet Peas from Hokkaido in April and early May, you are very lucky person!

Hokkaido is located in the northern Japan territory and well known as coldest place in Japan. This big island got heavy snow during winter. Sapporo Snow Festival is now very popular for overseas tourist as well.
Because of cold climate, spring comes very late compare to mainland Japan. Main production are of Japanese Sweet Peas is Kyushu Island in the southern Japan and Sweet Pea season in Japan is starting from Miyazaki prefecture in Kyushu Island.

But Miyazaki prefecture become rainy & cloudy season after middle of February and spring is coming earlier than Mainland Japan and Hokkaido. This climate brings high water contents of products and getting difficult to export around end of February because of risk of damage caused by botrytis and also mold.
